The site looks a little different, except it's exactly the same. Allow for tweakage of the new design in the next week...and yes! Black and white is the new...black and white!
Take note of the new Friends page...rather happy how that came out.
Wanna hear what I did on New Year's day? No? Sorry...I went to Bartleby's coffeeshop in Mystic, CT with my guitar and amp and set up and open mike and played all day...as i did on Christmas day...cause I'd learned all these Christmas songs and it seemed like a waste to not sing them out loud...so I digress to Christmas day...I singing Lennon's "WAr Is Over" when this redheaded woman and her entourage occupy the table next to me...so she's literally right next to me...6 inches to my right and she leans in and says: "I just lost my twin sister"...I stopped playing and said: "wow!!" and she told me the story...I couldn't imagine that...she asked if we could sing amazing grace and we did in harmony and then her 80 something year old grandfather started in, then a couple of latency aged kids and then this 40 something y.o. guy and it was unreal...and she said: "you wouldn't believe what a good violinist my grandfather is..." and I said: "why, cause he's old?" and he grinned. So we sang some more Christmas songs as an ensemble...so fast forward to New Year's day...this guy and his female "just friends" friend come in and watch me for awhile and I can tell by his questions about my guitar that he plays and I ask him and he gets up and the first song he does is "Operator" by Croce who was born the same day as me..the James Taylor (who I love) and then some beautiful original stuff and he says it's the first time he's played in about a year cause "I'm coming out of something..." So the morale of the story is...it's amazing what happens when you set up an impromptu open mike...on Christmas and New Year's day! And I was almost not depressed at all about all the other shit...oh! I sang the Beatles "Can't Buy Me Love" at Christmas...that was my poke at consumerism...guess I got em there...right?...right?...is anyone out there? Do I exist? I doubt it....
